Skin Deep: Faizah Grootens with The Legendary Black Ice and KIP Republic (NDL) 3min

Skyscrapers Act 1 – Belonging
KIP Republic presents Skin Deep, a short dance film that expresses the daily struggle of trying to turn the noise inside one’s head into music: screeching voices into a choir, emotional clumsiness into dance, and the paradox of this repetitive loop, a continuous search for a sense of belonging.
Choreography & interpretation: Faizah Grootens Poem: The Legendary Black Ice Creative director: Ayra Kip Photography: David Van Delden

Here Say: Emilie Leriche (US) 8min

“Here/say” is a piece that exists -in simple terms- as a conversation between two people; where dialogue melts into movement, movement back into dialogue, and in the end both serve the same purpose of revealing the complexities that lie in communicating with each other.
Choreography & direction: Emilie Leriche Performers: Arika Yamada & Riley O’Flynn Music: Wolf Bergen Cinematography: Alana Da Silva
