Emigration is the indelible imprint that a person wears like a tattoo. Emigration does not only have to do with the integration in relation to another culture. It has to do with the journey through various stages, where our voice tries to harmonize with the timbres and tones of other voices to build the melody of communication. For this, language should not be a means of discrimination First of all it is music.

Through the dissociation between what is happening bodily and vocally, a strangeness, an irony or even an absurdity emerges, leaving the spectator’s imagination in a permanent swing; the vocal body then mingles with the moving body in a dialogue between interior and exterior. Seen as a workshop of narrative making, ˈstɔːriz is a duet in constant transformation, between what is seen, heard, lived.

NINE: Nicole Von Arx (CH/US) 25min

In this performance NVA, influenced by her theatrical and dance experiences, will attempt to portray nine different characters and emotions. And as she pirouettes, slow strips and delivers a voiceless monologue, she also invites the audience to participate in the unfolding of the show with a game of raising your hand. This evening length solo show is a playful satire of our daily lives and an attempt to slow down Time.
